The Czech Association of Research Universities (AVUni) has published its statement on the proposed amendments to the framework of the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF).
The Association warns that the proposed changes could significantly limit the ability of universities and European University Alliances to directly access funding under this instrument and to participate in strategic European Union projects.
AVUni emphasizes that universities represent one of the key pillars of Europe’s competitiveness, particularly in the areas of education, research, innovation, and the development of a highly qualified workforce. At the same time, the Association highlights the importance of internationalization and European university cooperation for the future prosperity, security, and technological sovereignty of the European Union. AVUni therefore calls on European institutions and EU Member States to preserve the position of universities as fully integrated partners within European programmes and innovation ecosystems.
